Travis Mack - President / CEO

Travis Mack

Mr. Mack provides strong leadership and direction, developing strategies to ensure Saalex’s continued success while earning admiration among the company’s stakeholders and communities. Prior to founding Saalex in 1999, Mr. Mack held senior technology management positions with Homestore.com and Modis IT Consulting. He has in-depth expertise in software applications services and defense acquisition contracting. He served in the U.S. Navy and is a service disabled veteran. Mr. Mack holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business from Webber International University. He completed the Senior Executive Management Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He also completed the Junior Executive Management Program at Clark Atlanta University, graduated from the USC Marshall School of Business Executive Leadership Program and is a certified Six Sigma greenbelt. Mr. Mack is a member of Southern California Aerospace Professionals (SCAPR) and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). He sits on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club for Oxnard and Port Hueneme, the Board of Directors for The United Way of Ventura County, and CareerSource Brevard Workforce Development Board.

Earl Jones - Board of Advisors Member

Earl Jones

Earl Jones brings over forty-two years of experience in the management, development and operation of space and communications ground systems. His twenty-two (22) year career at TRW (now Northrop Grumman) included successful acquisition of new space ground system programs as Business Area Manager for Space Command & Control and Telecommunications Systems. He also distinguished himself as a superb Program Manager including such programs as the Consolidated Space Operations Center (CSOC) located in Colorado Springs, CO, the Space-Based Infrared (SBIRS) Ground System Pre-EMD, The Follow-On Early Warning System (FEWS) Ground Segment, and the Launch and Network Control Equipment (LANCE) Program. During his career in the United States Air Force, he was responsible for ground system developments for such programs as the Space Shuttle Ground Processing at Vandenberg AFB, CA, Inertial Upper Stage (IUS) Processing at Cape Canaveral, FL, and Long-Haul Telecommunications Centers throughout the Pacific. Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Tuskegee University and a Master of Urban Planning from Syracuse University.

Randall Wheeler - Chief Financial Officer

Randall Wheeler

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Randall Wheeler is responsible for overseeing the Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources and Contracts Departments, as well as leading strategic planning and corporate development efforts. Randall Wheeler has served as Director of Finance at Saalex since 2004. Prior to starting with Saalex, he spent 15 years as a Controller in large public companies and Department of Defense contractors. Randall has guided the financial needs of Saalex as it has grown from a few employees in 2004 to more than 600 employees today. Randall has been named to the Pacific Coast Business Times’ annual list of Who’s Who in CFOs, Controllers, and Financial Executives multiple times. He graduated from Portland State University in 1987 with a BS in Business Administration and Accounting and is a Certified Management Accountant. Randall is a member of the Rotary Club and served as club President during 2009-2010.

Aaron Cudnohufsky - Director of Operations

Aaron Cudnohufsky

Mr. Cudnohufsky has served over 28 years as an active duty Naval Officer. His Navy experience includes Aviation Command at sea of a fighter squadron (VF-31), Executive Assistant for Director Navy Staff, Commanding Officer of the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Hawaii, and Military Director of the NAVAIR ranges. He is a member of the Navy Acquisition Corps and is DAU qualified level III in Program Management, Test & Evaluation, and SPRDE-System Engineering. He has flown numerous combat missions in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and other operational deployments.

Mr. Cudnohufsky’s last 5 ½ years of his Navy career has focused on the Research, Development, Acquisition, Test, and Evaluation of Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, U.S. Defense Agencies and Foreign Allied programs. Mr Cudnohufsky’s many military decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit (2 awards), Defense Meritorious Service medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), and Strike/Flight Air medals (4 awards). He is a graduate of Northern Michigan University and earned a Masters degree from the Naval War College.

Devin Sappington - Director of Business Development and Capture

Devin SappingtonMr. Sappington has over 30 years in DoD experience both as an active duty airman and as a federal contractor. While in the US Air Force Devin’s experience was spread among many disciplines including electronic warfare, satellite commanding and data acquisition, remote sensing, aircrew operations, and nuclear proliferation monitoring. He proudly served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm deploying with the 801st Provisional Bomb Wing. Devin has over 15 years of Capture and Business Development experience supporting both small and large businesses. His successful execution of the business development processes have yielded well over a half a billion dollars in new revenue. He holds a Bachelor degree in Information Technology Management and is a member of the National Space Club.

Victor Melendez - Director of Human Resources

Victor MelendezVictor Melendez formerly owned International Consulting Associates since 2009. His HR background has been in Government, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Technology, Medical Device, Merchant Application Services, Airline Industries Food/Beverage, retail and entertainment organizations with over 30 years of experience. Mr. Melendez is a strategic and tactical HR and operations adviser, coach and mentor for all levels of organizations and a subject matter expert as an architect of HR structures from start-ups, reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures which includes multi-site, multi-state and international locations. He holds an MA in Human Relations and Organizational Behavior and a BA in Business Management.

 

David Stills - Director of Information Technology

David StillsDavid Stills is a talented and seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in Information Technology (IT) leadership and consulting. He brings a wealth of expertise with strengths in leveraging technology to meet aggressive goals, governance and policy, budget management and cost containment, as well as a vast technical background. Mr. Stills joined Saalex in April of 2015, demonstrated his leadership skills, and became the Director of Information Technology for both Saalex Solutions and SaalexIT. Mr. Stills serves as the principal advisor for IT to exceed expectations throughout the enterprise. Prior to this role at Saalex, Mr. Stills served as the Director of IT for a real-estate development company and before that as the CEO of an IT services company. Mr. Stills is also a US Army protected veteran who has served his country for 10 years. He continues to give back to the community as a member of the CareerSource Brevard‘s IT Workforce Consortium and the Space Society for Information Management. He also supports the Eastern Florida State College’s Xcel-IT Grant and the CareerSource Brevard’s American Promise Grant.

Susanne Kuracz - Director of Finance and the Program Management Office

Susanne KuraczMs. Kuracz has been with Saalex for three years as Controller and has over 28 years in the defense industry. She is responsible for accounting, proposal pricing including cost narratives, and program financial management. Prior to joining Saalex, she was with Northrop Grumman and DRS Technologies. She holds a BA in Finance from Michigan State University.

 

 

Tunary Chap - Director of Proposals

Tunary ChapTunary Chap, a certified Proposal Management Professional, is leading Saalex’s Proposal and Marketing day-to-day efforts. She has been with Saalex for over six (6) years and has greatly contributed to over $650 million dollars in proposal wins for the company. Prior to being appointed Director of Proposals, Ms. Chap served in various proposal and marketing positions and executed many functions from the ground up, where she provided strong organization, team-building, and great attention-to-detail. Ms. Chap holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from UCLA with an emphasis on American Politics. She volunteers at her local Operation Gratitude monthly assembly days.

Jaime Dempsey - Director of Contracts

Jaime DempseyJaime Dempsey has been with Saalex for 1.5 years as the Contracts Manager, and more than 18 years in the federal contracting field. Ms. Dempsey is responsible for the negotiation and administration of all contracts and subcontracts, in addition to many other responsibilities related to contracting. Prior to joining Saalex, she was a Contracting Officer at NASA for 17 years. At NASA Ms. Dempsey worked on the Space Shuttle Program, Commercial Crew Program and the Expendable Launch Vehicle Program. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Central Florida and a Master’s Degree in Contract and Acquisition Management from Florida Institute of Technology.
